"Everything floats, everything stands" is a meeting between three artists: Henrik Nordahl, Bernhard Bratsberg and Madelen Isa Lindgren.
Although the artists vary in expression and materials, they are united in the contrasts between the soft and the hard, organic versus industrial, concrete and abstract. Nordahl deals with materials that we are surrounded with in our daily lives, such as strips of paper intended for joining plaster walls, and transforms them into something recognizable, yet ambiguous. With Bratsberg's oil paintings, he wants to give a language to complex human experiences in the digital age. The forms in Bratsberg's works balance between solid and fluid form, abstract mass and more clear figuration, while Lindgren works with the structures of nature, and the intersection between survival and care. Through the combination of glass and metal, Lindgren's works convey the contrast between the fragile and the threatening. Together, a space is created to explore the break between the fleeting and the stable – between what floats and what stands.
